    Outrageous Blessings! Want Some?

When you hear the words “outrageous blessings” what comes to your mind?  I know as Christians, when people ask us how we are we frequently respond “I’m Blessed”, but what do you really mean by that?  Most people simply mean that the basic things in their life are covered.  Things like good health, they have a job, they have a home or a place to live, their families are well, etc.  So what does being “outrageously blessed” look like?

Outrageous Blessings! The first time I heard that phrase was on Dr.Stacia Pierce’s promo when she was coming to speak at our church.  When I heard her say those words “outrageous blessings” and that we should be living a life full of it, it rocked my soul!  It moved me so much that I rushed to define what that meant to me.  As I do with everything, the first thing I did was talk to God about it.  God is this true?  Should this really be my goal?  Is this really possible?  Come on now, this really seemed to be in the realm of the impossible.  God reminded me of what He says in Ephesians 3:20 (amp); Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super-abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]. Wait a minute, wait a minute!  I’ve heard that scripture before, but I have never spent much time thinking about it as a reality for my life.

This took the idea of my being “outrageously blessed” to a whole new level for me.  You mean to tell me that if I submit to God & let His power flow through me it will produce something that the bible calls “superabundant” & beyond my wildest dreams!  Are you serious?  Come on now, what could that be?  What would something like that actually look like?   I was so excited!

Then I started talking to God about all the possibilities and I made of list of them all.  If there were no restrictions, what would I want to do in my lifetime?  I came up with hundreds of scenarios!  Over the years since I first heard the term “outrageous blessings” I’ve rerun each & every one of those scenarios over & over in the movie theater of my mind.  Through this process I was able to scale it down a bit by searching inside myself for the things I am passionate about; the things I really wanted to do more than anything else.  But even after that, the list is still long & it seems like getting there is still almost impossible from where I sit now.

Good thing I know God like I do!  Because in Philippians 4:13 (amp);  I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who [a]infuses inner strength into me; I am [b]self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency] tells me that through Jesus Christ I have His power & strength to do everything I want to do.  So this supports what God says in Ephesians 3:20.  And in Matthew 19:26 (amp);  But Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God Jesus tells us that in God ALL things are possible.  All right now, we are cooking with gas now!

So, if that’s all true, what’s stopping us?  If that’s true there is nothing I can’t do!  There is nothing I can’t have & accomplish!  What about you?  When you hear the phrase “outrageous blessings” what comes to your mind?  If there were no restrictions in your life, what would you be doing?  What does it make you dream of?  I think you should really spend more time tossing this around.

Outrageous Blessings! We serve a dream come true God & according to what He says, He wants us to dream big so He can top even our wildest dreams!  I really love God & I really want to see if this can happen in my life, what about you?

Do you like the idea of being “outrageously blessed”?

Laugh It Up! – It’s More Important Than Your Think!

How much do you laugh?  Did you know you can use laughter as a weapon?  I know you’re wondering how & why, so let’s talk about it.

The answer to the above questions can be found in the bible where God instructs us to focus on positive things in Philippians 4:8 (amp); For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].  God tells us to do that because He knows that whatever you are focusing on will grow in our spiritual eyes.  Haven’t you noticed that when you keep talking & telling someone your problem, the problem just seems to get bigger & you get angrier?  Then the problem seems to now be bigger than you can handle and impossible to overcome or defeat.  Once this happens, hopelessness gets in and the pressure to give up feels tremendous & too much to bare! Proverbs 17:22 (amp); A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

However, if you concentrate & focus on God’s solution to the problem, the solution now gets larger in your spiritual eyes, your faith builds, you feel stronger & more powerful, then the problem shrinks in your eyes as you see yourself squishing it like a bug! I don’t know about you but God’s power fills me with joy & it makes me laugh.  So does killing something that was trying to kill me!  I enjoy stepping on the problem like it was a roach.  Now can you see how laughter can be used as a weapon?

God wants you to experience His great power in your life & laughter helps to open a portal for that power to enter your life bringing God to your problem.

Now, I’m not talking about laughing at others, putting them down to feel better about you.  I have to say that because I hear those fleshly demons talking to you as we speak.  I’m talking about laughing about the many things that are good about this life & how others see it. That’s why I love “stand-up”  & “situation” comedies.  It’s funny to see how people use humor & laughter to lift their own spirits no matter the situation.  It is an encouragement for us to do the same thing.  When you look at the world you can tell God has a sense of humor.  In addition, I’m also talking about laughing in Satan’s face when he comes to attack you.

Look, we all have challenges in our lives & Satan is hitting us in every way that he can.  But God has already told us how this battle ends; John 16:33 (cev); I have told you this, so that you might have peace in your hearts because of me. While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world; so lighten & loosen up!  Make the decision once & for all about whom you believe.  Do you believe what your problem is saying to you or do you believe what God is saying?  It doesn’t matter what things look like. Aren’t we supposed to be walking by what we say we believe & not by what we see; 2 Corinthians 5:7 (cev); But we live by faith, not by what we see.

So, people of God, let’s start laughing!  Laugh it up!  Laugh at Satan, laugh at your problems, laugh because God has already set you up to win every battle because God has already won the war!  The fight has been fixed in your favor!

Laugh It Up! So go out today and laugh on purpose.  Smell the roses, listen to the birds singing, go get a massage, go to a good comedy club.  Begin to fill your life with the things that make you smile, laugh & bring you joy!

Now don’t run out and swing the pendulum too far to the other side.  I know we can’t laugh & play all day. Our lives need to be well-balanced, work & play. But we’ve all seen too many, too serious Christians who see Satan & problems under every rock.  If you are one of those too serious Christians begin to ask God to show you how to let things go & trust Him more.  Ask Him to show you how to just laugh.

This world is yours for the taking so go out and take your share.  Spend time laughing with God as you & He plan your take over.  Use laughter as you work that plan in your life & watch your dreams manifest & your purpose fulfilled!

When you use laughter to enjoy your life, you can see how blessed you are in spite of any & every problem.  Laughing cuts the throat of your enemy, starving him of its power over you.  So throw you head back, hold your stomach & laugh out loud!

Laughing is a weapon, so go get as much practice using it as you can!  Laugh it up!

Are Demons Real? The Answer May Surprise You!

Are demons real, do they really exist?  Of course they do, the bible tells us that Jesus had dealings with them.  People came to Jesus asking him to cast demons out of them or out of people they knew as in Matthew 8:16 (cev); that evening many people with demons in them were brought to Jesus.   And with only a word he forced out the evil spirits and healed everyone who was sick.  This scripture also proves that not only do demons exist, but they also possess & oppress people. Are Demons Real?

There are many kinds of demons that do many kinds of things to influence & control us & the things we do.  Have you ever heard of the saying “the devil made me do it”?  People used this as a joke but many times it may be true to some degree.  This subject is too big for us to cover here so I only want to start you to thinking about the demons affecting your life!  Do you know who they are & what influence they have over you?

Let me make this a little easier to get the answers you need.  Everyone has goals that they want to achieve right?  What are the things in your life that you want to do but for some reason you just can’t seem to get it done?  Who’s holding you back?  I suggest that some demon is probably at the root of your problem.

Don’t get all spooked on me.  Let’s look at it like this.  If I were to ask the people close to you about the things that you need to change & the things that are holding you back, what would they say those things are?  If I were to ask your ex’s the same question, what would they say?

The reason why this information is important is because God only gave us good things according to Galatians 5:22-23 (cev); God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23 gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.  If that is true, then where did things like pride, lust, stubbornness, insecurity, fear, rejection, abandonment & loneliness come from? Not only are demons real, their leader Satan is real too!

The bible tells us that Satan is a thief in John 10:10 (amp); the thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it[a]overflows); & he is trying to take your life!  So if Satan is trying to kill you, don’t you need to know just how he’s planning to do that?  Do you know?  What’s your plan to defeat him?  Do you even have a plan of action against him?

I know I’m asking a lot of questions but they all lead to the same place.  You need to have a plan to win the battle being waged against you because whether you like it or not, it’s already happening.  Now the next part, how can you have a plan when you don’t even know who you’re fighting?  That’s why you need the answers to the questions I’ve asked you above.  Are you a procrastinator, an addict, a hater, jealous, etc?  As you can see, there are many ways that a demon can influence who you are & how you act.  Then gain access to you via your own sin or from the sins of those in your family via generational curses.  No matter how they got in, you have the power thru the blood of Jesus to put them out.  Sounds like a lot right but here’s why it’s going to be easier than you think; Philippians 4:13 (amp); I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who [a]infuses inner strength into me; I am [b]self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].

So, now what?  The 1st thing you need to do is to sit down with God to make an honest list of the demonic influences in your life.  The 2nd thing you need to do is to ask God to help you create & develop a plan of action against them.  The 3rd thing you need to do is work the plan – you & God can tweak the plan as you need to but you have to do what the plan instructs at all cost.  Your life is on the line so you have to kill the demons trying to kill you.

Here’s where your relationship with the Holy Spirit will be vital.  This is not a battle you can win alone.  Don’t you want the best help possible?  Of course you do & the Holy Spirit is the best in the business!  So ask God for the help you need just like Mark 11:24 (lb) tells us; Listen to me! You can pray for anything, and if you believe, you have it; it’s yours!

Here’s a tip to ensure your victory against every demon coming against you.  You have to be living & working Romans 12:2 (amp); Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].  You have to allow God to transform you into the original creation He made you to be.  On this path will be the power & resources you need to win every battle!

Are Demons Real? Are demons real?  Yes they are, but you now have what you need to free yourself & take the demons in your life captive now!

Prayers – Are Yours Being Answered?

Are your prayers being answered? Have the things that you’ve asked God for appeared before your very eyes? I know as Christians, we are told we have to pray.  We’re told we have to have a good, strong prayer life.  But how do you know if you doing it right?  Have all your prayers been answered already?

I remember many years ago sitting in church listening to a guest speaker.  He asked us if all of our prayers have been answered.  He then went on to say that God wants to give us all the things we ask Him for.  That was a surprise to me because when I thought about it, all of my prayers had not be answered.  Up until that point I just thought that if you got what you prayed for then God was saying “yes” but if you didn’t then God was saying “no”. I realized that I needed to do some more research about prayer.  So I asked God about it first & then I asked other Christians.  Most Christians described prayer and a ritualistic monologue where you sit & ask God for what you want then get up and walk away.  Then you just wait to see what happens. I had been doing that & all of my prayers had not been answered so it had to be more to it than that.  That was too vague for me.

As I asked myself what I really knew about prayer, I realized that with all the “new members” classes I had taken when I joined my previous church, instruction on how to pray was not included.  However, the church did offer a supplemental class called “Steps To Answered Prayer”,  so I took the class.  I wanted all my prayers to be answered and I didn’t want to be the reason they weren’t.  I needed to make sure I got this prayer thing right.  The class taught about the different types of prayer and gave simple explanations of each.  It was a great first step.  Over the years, I’ve done a lot of additional study about prayer and I’ve learned a lot about it, but I like to keep things simple so here are some of the basics.

Are Your Prayers Being Answered?Prayer is not a monologue, it is a conversation between you & God about things He has said in the Bible & how it relates to your daily earthly life.  It’s a direct line to God so you can get solutions to our problems & directions for our lives just like Jesus did in Luke 6:12-13 (cev); (About that time Jesus went off to a mountain to pray, and he spent the whole night there. 13 The next morning he called his disciples together and chose twelve of them to be his apostles) when he had to choose his disciples.  The Bible talks about Jesus praying all the time (He kept in constant communication with God) & if Jesus did it, then we should follow his lead.

Before you pray be clear what you want or need from God.  Then find out what God has already said about it.  The easiest way to do that is to simply “Google” it.  You can also download free “God’s Promises” type apps to your smartphone.  Either way, just ask God his opinion on the subject.  All of these are great ways to get to know God, build your faith and keep out doubt – James 1:6, 7(cev)  But when you ask for something, you must have faith and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm. 7-8 If you are that kind of person, you can’t make up your mind, and you surely can’t be trusted. So don’t expect the Lord to give you anything at all.

Now I know that in life there will be some times that you need God to help in a hurry, so don’t let not having a scripture promise stop you from running to God.  Just be honest and tell God you don’t know what He has said about the subject & you need His help anyway.  Your crisis will not be a surprise to God, He’ll be waiting for you to ask for His help!

Keep in mind that every good conversation is a dialog, not a monologue.  Soooo don’t do all the talking.  Insert time in your prayers to listen to what God has to say back to you.  Write down what He says because you will not remember even though you think you will.

Are Your Prayers Being Answered? So, here’s what you need to remember:

    1.      Pray only to God in Jesus’ name – John 14:6, 13-14 (cev); “I am the way, the truth, and the life!” Jesus answered. “Without me, no one can go to the Father; Ask me, and I will do whatever you ask. This way the Son will bring honor to the Father;  I will do whatever you ask me to do.
    2.      Start all prayer with praise to God because no matter what you’re praying about, you are still blessed & God has been good to you. Psalm 100:4 (cev); Be thankful and praise the Lord as you enter his temple.
    3.      Tell God your problem or concern and remind Him of what He said in His Word.  Let God know that you really need His help & nobody can make this right like He can.  This is a form of worship. Matthew 7:7-8 (cev); Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. Everyone who asks will receive. Everyone who searches will find. And the door will be opened for everyone who knocks.
    4.      Extend your faith by believing that God not only heard your prayer but has sent the solution.  Mark 11:24 (cev); Everything you ask for in prayer will be yours, if you only have faith.

Sound simple?  That’s because it is.  Yes there are things that can be added, but this simple way to pray will be powerful, get results and get your prayer life off to a good start.  Keep in mind that God is not a magician and the manifestation of your prayers depends on God’s timing and how you’re living.  You can’t be acting a fool and still expect God to answer you.  We’ll talk about that part later.

Prayer is a powerful tool & weapon because it connects you directly to God & His power so practice praying daily.  Let Him teach you about it & remember practice, practice, practice makes perfect.

Are all your prayers being answered?  Now they will be!

    Everyday Won’t Be Sunny!

Everyday won’t be sunny!  We all know that, but if you’ve had a string of days that aren’t sunny & bright  it can be depressing.  So what do you do when you wake up with what I call the “blahs”?  What do you do when you just can’t shake the dark cloud hanging over your head?

I woke up like that a few days ago.  God is taking my life in a whole new direction that I never could have planned.  So this year and a half has been full of various changes and new things.  Some of the changes have been great and some have not been fun at all.  On top of that, days before this I got some news that was very disappointing! This left me pissed off at God because I believed that this matter was going to finally be over, especially after I had done all the stuff we’re taught to do as Christians!  I said the prayer, I extended my faith, I believed God’s word, etc.  Now I’m in the middle of processing these emotions of anger, disappointment, and frustration!  When I woke up the other day, Satan met me trying to convince me that I was just tired of all of this.

You’ve been there too, right? Have you had any days that weren’t sunny?  Of course you have, however, this was not my 1st rodeo.  This was not the 1st time that God didn’t answer my prayer in the manner I requested.  My experience with God has taught me that God’s way of doing things always covers things that I can’t and factors that I didn’t even know about.  But, that doesn’t stop Satan from sending negative emotion meant to get us to give up.  In fact, he takes full advantage of it.

When I woke up that morning, it was not a sunny day.  The “blahs” were laying on me like a blanket, but I knew what to do.  The 1st thing I did was acknowledge it for what it was and who sent it.  I then talked to God about it and asked Him what to do about it.  (I don’t care how mad I get at God; I am never leaving His side!)  The “blahs” were so heavy that it had me not wanting to get out of bed; I didn’t feel like doing anything.  I just wanted to stay in bed.  I then had a choice to make, and I decided to simply push past those demonic feelings and open myself up for what God had for me that day.

God met me on the other side of the push.  I went to my “to do” list (you always have to have a plan for your day) and I started making some phone calls I had planned to make.  One of those calls was to a friend who is in the hospital having surgery.  Her situation wasn’t sunny, but she was so upbeat and grateful that I let it wash over me like a wind and it blew that dark cloud off me.  There was the sun.  I was laughing so hard inside because it confirmed what I already knew.  God can take me being mad at Him, but He never leaves our side.  He promises us that in Deuteronomy 31:6 (nkjv); Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

When your day isn’t sunny, it shouldn’t surprise you.  God told us that this life comes with persecution in John 16:33 (cev); I have told you this, so that you might have peace in your hearts because of me. While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world”. We will go through some things, that’s what makes your muscle, but Jesus has already taken care of that so you can win every battle, every time!

Everyday Won't Be Sunny! I prefer sunny days. So, since I know the fight has been fixed in my favor, I boldly press forward to take my victory in whatever attack has been sent to defeat me!  I moved on with my day and it was great!

Here are the things I remember (of course with the Holy Spirit’s help) when my day isn’t sunny and things seem dark.

    1.      Stick to the original plan.  This is not the time to abandon ship & give up.
    2.      Remember this darkness/dark cloud is only temporary.  Every storm passes.  Keep your eye on Jesus.
    3.      Remain calm so you can hear God give directions.  Write down what He tells you.
    4.      Take your condition (how you feel) to God & leave it there.
    5.      Remember this situation is only a test.  Be determined to pass it because if you don’t, you will have to take it again.
    6.      Encourage yourself like David did in 2 Samuel 6:14 (cev); He was dancing for the Lord with all his might, but he wore only a linen cloth Use the things that make you feel better to lift you up.  I use music, dancing, scripture, friends and just goofing off.  Work all the things that work for you.

We were sent from heaven to earth to help God save his children. And even though it’s not always easy, God told us that we will always win.  Isaiah 54:17 (nkjv); No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LordAnd their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord..

I was made for the fight I’m fighting and you were made for the fight you’re fighting.  Just be determined to win no matter what the attack.  Here’s something else that will help you.  Joyce Meyer has a book entitled “Enjoying Where You Are on The Way to Where You’re Going” that is a great weapon against dark situations and circumstances.

God will not do things exactly like I want Him to, but His word has not and will not ever fail me, Isaiah 55:11 (cev); That’s how it is with my words. They don’t return to me without doing everything I send them to do.”. I’ve never taken a loss with God, and I do not plan to start now.  Remember the situation I was just telling you about, where I got the disappointing news?  It’s not over, and I will win!

Everyday won’t be sunny, but every day I win. How about you?
